CEO of open AI, Sam Altman has given us some hints at the development of GPT-5, and in it he described it as significantly advanced over the other previous models, says GPT-5 will be a “significant leap forward”.
Chat GPT was launched in fall 2022 by Sam Altman. Although it seemed like a big leap in the advancements of AI technology, as it was the first company to lauch AI Chatbot which certainly gave OpenAI a big advantage and the company became famous overnight. However, Sam Altman has stated that he is not impressed by his creationand now he has started to drop hints on the company’s next LLM, GPT-5, and according to him it will be big leap forward.
According to the report by The Decoder, at the Aspen Ideas Festival, Altman expressed optimism about Chat GPT-5, Despite a lot of work yet to be done on the new model. Altman expressed his confidence in its potential. Notifying many errors of the chat GPT4 will be corrected in gpt 5.0
“We don’t know yet. We are optimistic, but we still have a lot of work to do on it”, “I expect (Chat GPT-5) to be significant leap forward. A lot of the things that gpt-4 gets wrong, you know, can’t do much in the way of reasoning, sometimes just sort of totally goes off the rails and make dumb mistakes, like even a six-year-old would never make.” states Altman
Although the specifics and release date of GPT-5 are still unclear, Altman’s comments indicate that the AI model is in its early development stages.
The excitement around GPT-5 follows the recent introduction of the GPT-4o model, which has already impressed users with its equation-solving capabilities and emotionally engaging conversational responses. OpenAI unveiled GPT-4o during its Spring Update event in May this year.
GPT-4o is an enhanced version of ChatGPT, which utilizes chat gpt 3.5 for non-subscribing users. This new model offers significant speed improvements, making it a powerful upgrade from its predecessors. It promises to deliver responses with reduced latency, as demonstrated during live presentations at the event. Additionally, GPT-4o goes beyond text interactions, incorporating voice and vision features. Users can now have spoken conversations with ChatGPT and receive vocal feedback, making the AI interaction feel more human-like.
At the launch of GPT-4o, Altman stated in a blog post that the updated ChatGPT is “smart, fast, fun, natural, and helpful.” He also praised the new voice and video mode in GPT-4o as “the best computer interface he has ever used,” likening it to “AI from the movies.” Altman expressed his amazement that such technology exists today.
